Our Girl Gone International Blogger of the Month (May) Laila L, a 23 year old who lives in Berlin, Germany shares your top 10 must haves for any girl gone international!

1) After Shokz – the “hear all” headphones

After Shokz Headphones

Now, they aren’t the prettiest around, but these new tech headphones allow you to hear what’s around you whilst transmitting the soundtrack of your life through your cheekbones. So whatever you do you can take in the local sounds without missing anything that happens and the sports version even comes with a microphone so you can take calls too. One thing they don’t do is block out crying babies on the plane – but that’s what you have those big, heavy headphones for.

These can be bought for around 69.95 USd here

2) Memorabilia from Berlin

These super cute and very bright Trabbis remind of an era in Berlin long gone. And with these awesome erasers your scribbles will be gone as well once you start using them. Or just keep them as a colourful reminder of your trip and a pretty desk accessory .

These can be bought from here  for around 1.99 EU

3) Let your nails smell like summer

Finally the solution to all that clutter we’ve been carrying around. Nailpolish fragranced with the CK One Summer scent combines perfume and nailpolish for every trip. Perfect in your hand luggage as it fits the plastic bag with your liquids and it looks great. As tested on Refinery29 it doesn’t come with a “perfume headache” and the colours look great! One downfall – it’s only available in the US for now at Ulta.com.

You can purchase this from US highstreet shops or online for example from here for 14,00 USD

4) Healthy snacks for on-the-go

For those of us with food allergies or who simply don’t enjoy plane food there is a solution! Various brands offer gluten and/or lactose free snacks that have previously been tried and don’t taste of cardboard. Because being fashionable starts by being healthy. For example try Lärabar, which comes in packs of 16 snack bars of your favourite tastes.

25 USD per box from here.

“The perception of beauty differs in every culture. In Japan, it is simplicity that is deemed beautiful.” This quote by designer Kazuma Yamaguchi refers to his version of the traditional swiss army knife by Victorinox. Tomo, meaning friend and companion in Japanese, adds a feminine touch to a traditionally martial and masculine item. A handy tool with a great design for every purse, except your carry-on!
